Salt Lake City, Utah is 312 miles to the north, Las Vegas, Nevada is 190 miles to the southwest, and Phoenix, Arizona is 325 miles south of Kanab, Utah.

Kanab is a rural southern Utah community with a population base of 5,000+. Located within 4 miles of the Arizona border, the community is known as the "hub" of the national parks.

Grand Canyon National Park is 80 miles south, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (Lake Powell) is 67 miles east, Bryce Canyon National Park is 70 miles north, Zion National Park is 35 miles east, and the community is adjacent to the recently created Grand Staircase National Monument.
